I can't get past the smell. I love kokum butter as an ingredient overall. I've used many brands and most are listed as unrefined. This is the only one I've used that has an odor. I personally would call it an odor, not a scent. I've used it in lotion and in butter bars. The lotion odor fades very quickly, even when used on my face. The butter bars are a bit stronger. However, to be fair, the end users of the lotions and bars don't notice this odor. They claim it smells earthy or similar to a soap. I bought a 2 pound pack and just finished it all for my Christmas spa gift bags. I have repurchased another brand for above reasons. All other qualities of this brand are wonderful and work well. Melting and emulsifying very well.

Honestly, I was skeptical about ordering 500 g of mango butter given that I had a bad first experience with another vendor's mango butter. It was so bad that I decided to almost skip the ingredient. However, your mango butter changed that perception. I was super excited to try a body butter using your mango butter so made a 50-gram version; I was super impressed with the result. Update: the seller did contact me and offer me a full refund given my dissatisfaction.Wish I had read reviews. I use Kokum butter to make a face cream I sell. My usual company was out of stock so I figured I'd try this. The smell is very strong. My other organic kokum butter doesn't have a scent at all. I tried making my cream anyway and everyone that smelled it said it smelled horrible like latex paint. I guess this would be fine if you don't mind that smell but I even tried adding essential oils and it overpowered the eo scents.

1st time ordering this brand and am not pleased. Purchased because I was out of my usual vendors kokum butter and needed it quickly. This brand was darker than I've seen and had a slight smell. I've been ordering Kokum butter for years and im not familiar with it looking like this

Sometimes an emergency Amazon order turns out to be a blessing. I've been using Kokum butter in my body butter for 9 years. I was considering removing it from my recipe, then I got it from Etherva. Now I'm considering increasing the amount I add to my butter. This is absolutely the best most natural Kokum butter I've used. Glad I got the 11 lb box. Hope it's available when I need it again.

Clearly, whoever wrote the review of this oil smelling rancid doesn’t know what unrefined oils smell like. My package arrived today and damnit, it’s cold outside! So yes, my oil is slightly thickened but it will liquefy when it reaches room temperature. It smells fresh and nutty, just like the ones I have previously ordered fr Brambleberry 😍 I am glad I ordered this oil! Great price for the amount 😃 well packaged was another plus ❤️

Before I bought this I had never heard of Kokum before, and now I’m wondering how hasn’t everyone. It’s double packaged and vacuum sealed to keep its quality in tact which I really liked. Was easy enough to cut through though it did crumble some which was even better in my opinion. Loved that it was cheaper than cocoa butter because in my view and my research cocoa butter is a bit overrated it’s more of a fragrance thing I guess. But using this in my lotions I’ve made so far, I’ve never felt such silky smoothness on my skin before, and it makes your whole body feel completely hydrated and rejuvenated will definitely be using this as a regular staple in all cosmetics and care supplies from now on.

I melt this butter over a double boiler with a couple of other butters to make my body cream. It melts and whips like a dream. It does have a faint odor of something like coffee but it’s easily masked with essential oil or it will dissipate if you don’t want to use oils. It comes in a dense block that’s easy to cut off chunks if you don’t plan to use it all at once. Plus it is a great moisturizer. Definitely recommend.
