Can't get past the odor

I can't get past the smell. I love kokum butter as an ingredient overall. I've used many brands and most are listed as unrefined. This is the only one I've used that has an odor. I personally would call it an odor, not a scent. I've used it in lotion and in butter bars. The lotion odor fades very quickly, even when used on my face. The butter bars are a bit stronger. However, to be fair, the end users of the lotions and bars don't notice this odor. They claim it smells earthy or similar to a soap. I bought a 2 pound pack and just finished it all for my Christmas spa gift bags. I have repurchased another brand for above reasons. All other qualities of this brand are wonderful and work well. Melting and emulsifying very well.

Not my favorite Kokum butter

Update: the seller did contact me and offer me a full refund given my dissatisfaction.Wish I had read reviews. I use Kokum butter to make a face cream I sell. My usual company was out of stock so I figured I'd try this. The smell is very strong. My other organic kokum butter doesn't have a scent at all. I tried making my cream anyway and everyone that smelled it said it smelled horrible like latex paint. I guess this would be fine if you don't mind that smell but I even tried adding essential oils and it overpowered the eo scents.

Not very pleased

1st time ordering this brand and am not pleased. Purchased because I was out of my usual vendors kokum butter and needed it quickly. This brand was darker than I've seen and had a slight smell. I've been ordering Kokum butter for years and im not familiar with it looking like this

Best Kokum butter!

Sometimes an emergency Amazon order turns out to be a blessing. I've been using Kokum butter in my body butter for 9 years. I was considering removing it from my recipe, then I got it from Etherva. Now I'm considering increasing the amount I add to my butter. This is absolutely the best most natural Kokum butter I've used. Glad I got the 11 lb box. Hope it's available when I need it again.
